About

My inspiration for New England Stories comes from Chuck Olsen.

Here’s what Chuck Olsen wrote about our sister site, Minnesota Stories:

MN Stories is a lot of things. It’s a conduit for independent media, and a conduit for interestingness.” There are always people doing interesting things in the margins of the arts, of politics, of life. Most of the time, you don’t see those people in mainstream media because there’s not room for them, unless it’s in a “look what these weirdos are doing” way.

So maybe MN Stories says “hey these weirdos are passionate and cool!”

There’s so much creativity bubbling under the surface, everywhere you go. Or, maybe injustice. All kinds of stuff. Not everyone is going to make a videoblog - like Gena says, there are barriers. Some people might only want to make one video and have it live somewhere and get seen - MN Stories is one such place. It’s a mix of that, and me going out and finding those cool weirdos and mundane heroes.

Submit your videos
It’s easy to submit your stories for consideration.

Once you have a video you want to submit, head over to blip.tv and post it with the tag ‘newenglandstories‘.

I’ll see it and take a look. If I think it fits on New England Stories, I’ll post it.

Thanks for visiting!
